David Ragan began racing in the Bandolero Series in 1997, at 12 years old. Under the guidance of his father, former Winston Cup driver, Ken Ragan, David had years of experience instilled in him before he ever hit the racetrack. Not wanting to be known as just the son of a former driver, David made sure to let his on-track performance prove that he was out to establish his own reputation. He accomplished his goal, winning 12 races and the National Championship in just his second year of competition. David continued to race in the Bandolero Series for the next two years, again winning the National Championship in 1999. Over the next several racing seasons, David won numerous races and championships in the Legend Car and Thunder Roadster series through-out the south east. In 2003 David partnered with Goodys Dash Series driver, Cam Strader, and went to work in his shop in Lexington, North Carolina. As soon as he turned 18, David made his first foray in NASCAR. He ran select Camping World Truck and Xfinity Series events, along with a limited ARCA schedule. After participating in Roush’s “Driver X” competition in 2005, Ragan was selected as codriver of the No.6 Roush Fenway Racing Ford F-150 with teammate, Mark Martin. He also competed in a select number of Xfinity and Cup series events. David’s hard work really paid off toward the end of the 2006 season when he was selected by Jack Roush to be the driver of the No. 6 AAA Ford Fusion in the Sprint Cup Series in 2007. Ragan went on to drive for Roush Fenway Racing for 6 seasons. In those 6 years, David collected 4 wins, 29 top fives, and 83 top tens. David Ragan joined Front Row Motorsports in January of 2012. Ragan spent 3 years driving for the Ford team based out of Statesville, NC. While helping Front Row Motorsports grow into a more competitive team, Ragan collected 2 top 5's, 5 top 10's, and a dramatic win at Talladega Super Speedway in 2013. It was Front Row Motorsports first win in the Sprint Cup Series. Ragan qualified for his 4th consecutive All-Star appearance in 2014. Ragan spent 2015 subbing for the injured Kyle Busch, and upon his return, David transitioned to the #55 team of Michael Waltrip Racing. While finishing out the year driving the Aaron’s Dream Machine, David gained valuable experience driving for 2 of the top Toyota teams in the Sprint Cup Series. David will join fellow Toyota Racing team, BK Racing for the 2016 season. Watch for David and the BK Racing team in all the 36 Sprint Cup Series Races in 2016.
